First Time Visitor?

We are always happy to welcome visitors to worship with us at Weimar UCC.  We extend a hearty welcome to all who would worship with us or fellowship with us at any of our activities.  You do not have to join our church in order to worship with us.  All are welcome to join us for worship. study, and fellowship.  Come be a part of a friendly community of faith that will extend a welcome to you and your family!

What You Can Expect

You are welcome to dress in any fashion you choose to attend a worship service at Weimar United Church of Christ.  Some dress in suits or nice dresses but far more wear casual slacks and shirts or even blue jeans.  You do not have to dress up to worship with us.  Be comfortable and you will be accepted.

We sing from The Chalice Hymnal and sing a variety of styles of music.  We incorporate choruses and modern music along with well known traditional hymns of the church.  We have an organist, pianist, or keyboard player accompanying our singing.  Our church choir sings on two Sundays of the month and special singers or musicians provide music the other two Sundays.

We read three scripture passages each Sunday that can be found in the New Revised Common Lectionary.  These scriptures are read weekly in most Protestant denominations as well as in the Roman Catholic Church.  We use the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible in our reading and in our pew Bibles.  Our pastor uses one or more of the readings as the basis for his sermon each Sunday.  The pastor incorporates music and humor as part of his sermon and attempts to be relevant and contemporary in the message he presents weekly.

Holy Communion is served on the First Sunday of each month.  The sacrament is served in the pews with trays containing the bread (wafers) and wine (both wine and grape juice) passed between worshipers.  We believe in Open Communion at Weimar UCC.  You do not have to be a member of this church or any church in order to receive Holy Communion.  You simply have to have a desire to be in closer fellowship with God and your neighbor.

We welcome all persons into the life of our faith community.  If you have any questions regarding our worship practices, please call the church office at 979-725-8315 to speak to the pastor or send an email to him at
